Better late than never, Michael Jordan's alma mater will now be wearing his logo while playing football.
Ahead of the new college football season, the University of North Carolina has officially unveiled its Jordan Brand uniforms, which make use of Nike's Mach Speed chassis. The system maximizes an athlete's range of motion and increases breathability with a minimal-seam design, stretch woven materials and laser perforations on front and back panels. The unis are adorned by the school's classic argyle print.
In addition to traditional home (University Blue) and away (white) uniforms, there's a navy-based alternate inspired by Michael Jordan's Tar Heel practice shorts, which he famously wore under his uniform as a pro.
The Tar Heels are also training in a custom colorway of the Jordan Trainer 2 Flyknit, available now for $140 at nike.com.
North Carolina will debut the new uniform on-field when they host California on Sep. 2, 2017. Fans can purchase replica jerseys and apparel now at nike.com.
