A new set of images from Nike on this week's Wings Air Jordan 1 release reveals a few details about the shoe that were glossed over in the course of the model leaking. Chief among them is the wear-away upper—as shown in the image above, the sneaker actually starts as an all-black shoe, the gold parts emerging only after wear and agitation.
Air Jordans have used this progressive approach to materials before: Lance Mountain's Air Jordan 1s faded to reveal color and the Wings Air Jordan 12 had a hidden gold graphic. But unlike those, this Jordan 1 will arrive already faded, and it sounds like there won't be any pure black pairs on the market.
The latest set of product images also reveals a graphic insole, alternate set of laces, and dustbag that comes with this $200 retro.
