New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. reportedly signed the biggest footwear endorsement deal in NFL history on Tuesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapaport. The new contract will keep the NFL star at the Swoosh for at least another 5 years, with a deal that is believed to be worth more than $29 million.

The new deal came about as Beckham's original Nike contract was set to expire on May 1. Beckham and his agent, Zeke Sandhu met with Adidas, which also offered a very lucrative deal that included signature cleats, apparel and influence on the brand beyond Football and Training categories. Per Nike's "match clause," which states the brand will match any competitor's offer, Beckham ultimately decided to stay with the Swoosh.

According to Nice Kicks, If certain parts of the contract are met, it could be extended to a 8 year $48 million, making it the most lucrative endorsement deal in NFL history and a huge increase of Beckham's previous 4 year $10.4 million deal.

While OBJ is already one of the biggest stars in football, expect the new deal to propel him even higher in Nike's brand initiatives on and off the field.
