Buggin' Out Air Jordan 4 Scuffed Do the Right Thing

Some of the Air Jordan line's success as a pop culture phenomenon can be traced back to Spike Lee's early involvement with the advertising and big screen appearances in movies like "Do the Right Thing." In the film, the character Buggin' Out (Giancarlo Esposito) confronts an out-of-control Celtics fan who had just scuffed his new "Cement" Air Jordan 4s after stepping on them.

The nightmare scenario made for one of the most memorable scenes in any Spike Lee Joint and has resonated with sneakerheads for nearly 30 years. So much that, in fact, to celebrate the arrival of summer and the launch of a new silhouette, Jordan Brand put together a special Buggin' Out-inspired kit to seed to influencers.

Included in the pack are two sneakers—the new Jordan Fly '89 Trainer and a special makeup of the "Cement" Jordan 4, complete with "Do the Right Thing" details. There's a green, yellow and red lace detail, scuff mark on the right shoe and a Jason Markk cleaning kit to commemorate the scene. As of now, there's no word on a release of the "Buggin' Out" 4s, but Frank Cooker did announce a mini scavenger hunt on Instagram.
