Never was there a man who made more outrageous claims about the athletic prowess of his children than LaVar Ball. The father of UCLA star Lonzo Ball is already figuring that his two younger sons, LiAngelo and LaMelo, will be successes in college and beyond. In fact, he's already dreaming about a package sneaker deal for all three of his kids.
"A billion dollars, it has to be there," Ball told USA Today. "That’s our number, a billion, straight out of the gate. And you don’t even have to give it to me all up front. Give us $100 mil over 10 years."
Keep in mind that the youngest of the trio, LaMelo, is 15 years old at the moment. Also, NCAA regulations are such that a deal couldn't materialize while any of the three sons are playing college basketball.
Ball said last month that if Lonzo didn't land a contract with Nike, Adidas, or Under Armour that he would be signing to Big Baller Brand, a self-started label the father is seen wearing in the image above.
Will this billion dollar deal come to fruition? Absolutely not. LeBron James recently signed a lifetime deal with Nike reportedly worth over $1 billion, but that didn't happen till after a decade of him being with the company. As a reminder of how rooted LaVar Ball's statements are in reality, he also told USA Today that in his prime he "would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one."
