J.J. Watt's signature Reebok sneaker has been sort of quiet with the special edition colorways since its launch, its silence broken here by a pair for Veterans Day. Per Reebok's release announcing the shoe, its design is inspired by Watt's appreciation of those who have served in the armed forces.
"We as athletes are often the subject of headlines and highlights, when in fact it is the men and women of our military who truly deserve the adoration and praise," said Watt via press release. "I chase a ball around a field for a living. These men and women lay their lives on the line to secure and protect our freedom. They are real American heroes."
The shoe is tied to Reebok's partnership with the Boot Campaign, a project raising awareness around the hardships of military service.
This Reebok JJ Watt 1 will release on Veterans Day (Nov 11.) for $99 via Reebok online.
