Russell Westbrook told us that he's doing what he wants now, and what he wants to do is shoot the ball. A lot.
In tonight's home opener against the Phoenix Suns, Westbrook put together an amazing stat line of 51 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, giving him the first 50-point triple-double since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1975. On Westbrook's back the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Suns 113-110 in overtime.
To net his 51 points, Westbrook put up 44 shots. That's more than any single player put up last season, except the 50 that Kobe Bryant put up for 60 points in his career finale. It's not shocking that there's a mutual admiration between the Mamba and Russ.
Jokes aside, that's still a pretty incredible stat line, and he put it together in a white and orange colorway of his modified Air Jordan 31 PE.
