With dreams of someday getting his pilot's license, 12-year Corwin Carr brought a theme of aviation to his Doernbecher Nike Stefan Janoski Max.
Across the top of the shoe is a jumpo jet, with a map of the world lining the interior. The shoelaces bear the print of Portland's famous airport carpet. Corwin's pilot's wings logo on the tongue is surrounded by 40 feathers, representing the 40 surgeries he's had since being diagnosed in utero with prune belly and VATER syndrome, a rare condition that can affect the spine, heart, digestive system, kidneys and more.
