Nike's Flyknit technology could get even more comfortable in the future. Business Insider spotted a new patent from the sportswear giant that describes something called a "Portable Steaming System for Articles of Footwear" that customizes the fit of Flyknits to better suit the wearer.

The machine basically steams a new pair of sneakers to make them more malleable, allowing them to form to the foot of the wearer when they put them on.

Nike's had this tech for a while, having used it to customize Flyknit Trainers for customers who bought the shoes at their launch during the 2012 Olympic USATF Trials in Eugene, Ore.
