Nike's 20th Anniversary Foamposite Release

Nike celebrates the Foamposite's legacy with a special release.

Nike Foamposite Royal

2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the Nike Air Foamposite One, a game-changing sneaker that's managed to stay relevant in the decades since its release thanks to countless retros. How will Nike be celebrating? Already confirmed for next year are re-releases for the Royal, Copper, and Eggplant colorways.

Also building excitement is a surfacing style code (895320-500) for a release that's billed as the Air Foamposite One XX. What exactly is the shoe in question? It's possible the name refers to one of the aforementioned colorways, but it may denote something new that Nike has in the works for the big birthday year.

Note that Nike used the XX suffix on the recent Air Max 96 XX, although we're assuming that this coming Foam style isn't a bastardization on that level.

No images exist yet of the Air Foamposite One XX.

Readers should expect the Foamposite style mentioned here to release in 2017.

UPDATE 10/4: The Air Foamposite One XX is indeed a retro of the original "Royal" style, seen here. The shoe is scheduled to release in January, 2017.
