A longtime adidas endorser may be on his way out.
Earlier today, a photo surfaced of Iman Shumpert training with Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Kyrie Irving. The interesting takeaway from the photo is that Shumpert is wearing Irving's latest Nike signature shoe, the Kyrie 2. Shumpert, who wore Nike in college at Georgia Tech, has been part of adidas Basketball since his rookie season in 2011 and just made a guest appearance with his wife in brand collaborator Kanye West's latest music video.
According to sneaker industry insider Nick DePaula, Shumpert's summer training in Nike isn't a mistake. His contract with the brand is expiring ahead of next season and it's expected that he and adidas are parting ways.
Iman Shumpert's shoe deal with adidas is expiring at the end of the month. They're expected to part ways -- Shump has been training in Nike.
