Even when the signature line has been less than dependable on-court, the Soldier line has been a reliable and affordable choice that’s seen a high adaptation rate at all levels of play. Check out any pick-up game; watch some NCAA ball; remember “The Block”–the Soldier has been there for moments both insignificant and legendary.
The Zoom Soldier 10 holds some special significance as the shoe LeBron James wore when he brought a title to Cleveland. But just because a shoe is significant doesn’t necessarily make it a good performer. The Nike LeBron Zoom Soldier 10 has off-the-charts comfort, tried-and-true cushioning, and is relatively affordable (excluding the iD versions). Even with less-than-stellar traction, it would be an easy recommendation were it not for durability issues. And considering the shoe has zero casual appeal, there’s not a lot you can do with a shoe like this once you’ve retired it from the court. I loved the Soldier 10 for the first few times I wore it, but if you take a chance, keep in mind that the shoe you first try on might not feel the same once it’s broken in.
