The launch of the “Banned” Air Jordan 31 is just around the corner and Jordan Brand just dropped a new Instagram video with Russell Westbrook to help promote its Sept. 3 release. The video features an interesting caption and corresponding narration that was quickly picked up on in the comments as a possible jab at Westbrook’s former teammate Kevin Durant.
The spot itself appears to be a take on the 1985 “Lift Off” commercial, but once Westbrook takes flight, a voiceover proclaims that, “Some run. Some make runways.” Could the “run” in question be in reference to Durant’s departure to Golden State, and the “runway” analogous to Westbrook’s contract extension in OKC?
