Nike's training heritage stretches back to its Air Trainer 1, the first shoe in a line that would go on to be irrevocably linked to Bo Jackson. Sure, John McEnroe wore Nike Air Trainers first, but it wasn't until Jackson's co-sign that sales for the cross-trainers really exploded. Here, Nike recalls its lineage in the category with a Metcon 2 release referencing its first trainer.

The model pulls the "Chlorophyll" colorway from the Air Trainer 1, bringing with it suede and leather–materials not usually seen on a modern performance silhouette like this.

The Nike Metcon 2 "Metcon Knows," its name referencing Nike's classic "Bo Knows" campaign, releases on July 22.
