"We’re focusing on developing our own brand, and our brand has nothing to do with theirs at all,"  Zheng Maoxin, head of marketing at the parent company of China's hilarious Uncle Martian sportswear brand, told the Wall Street Journal this week when asked about the similarity between Uncle Martian and Under Armour. Whether or not he was able to say it with a straight face is unclear.

Uncle Martian held a launch event in China last week, drawing criticism from users on Chinese social media site Weibo who called the brand out for its blatant lifting of Under Armour's logo.

Uncle Martian insists that it's not copying Under Armour, despite having a similar (if absolutely nonsensical) name and logo.

Maoxin also said that his company hasn't heard from Under Armour in the wake of the brand's threats of legal action.
