Mike Bibby could be described as one of the most influential people of the "sneakerhead era." Along with his Arizona Wildcats teammates, he helped put the Nike Air Foamposite One on the map back in 1997. Then, throughout the 2000s, Bibby was one of the first NBA players of today's generation to regularly hit the court in low-tops. Those low-tops were of course manufactured by the Jordan Brand, who made Bibby part of its inaugural athlete class in 1998.
Bibby played 14 pro seasons that included stops in Vancouver, Sacramento, Atlanta, Washington, Miami and New York. He's most remembered for his 7 seasons with the Kings, the majority of which were spent teaming up with Chris Webber, Vlade Divac and Peja Stojakovic to battle the rival Los Angeles Lakers. Bibby played his final game with the Knicks in May 2012.
From start to finish, Bibby was laced up in Air Jordan Player Exclusives. If you ask sneakerheads which member of Team Jordan has the overall best PEs, Bibby's name will come up quite often. The unique low cuts and purple accented kicks from his days with the Kings are largely responsible for his popularity in the sneaker community.
When you see the TD/10 logo on a pair of Air Jordans, it represents Team Dime, Mike Bibby's close inner-circle of family and friends. The '1Z',embroidery is a nod to his late friend Anthony Thompson. Both elements are visible on most of his personalized Jordans.
Today is Bibby's 38th birthday, and we're celebrating by taking a look back at 14 years of his Air Jordan PEs. From Vancouver to New York, they're all here. Scroll through and let us know which of Bibby's Js have been among your favorites throughout the years.
