Nike's Flyknit technology continues to be used cross-categorically, this time landing on the latest NikeCourt tennis sneaker, the Air Zoom Ultrafly.

The model is somewhere between a tennis shoe and a track spike, the latter used as a point of reference after Nike athletes told designers they sometimes use track spikes when running sprints to up their speed.

The brief on this one was for Nike's tennis team to create something like a "rocket ship" for the sport that could take its footwear to a whole new place. This is achieved partly through the extended ankle collar, a piece of Nike design that's becoming increasingly salient with each week.

Watch for the Nike Air Zoom Ultrafly to make its debut on March 9 at select Nike stores.
