It turns out DJ Khaled was a sneaker salesman before he was a world-famous producer and Snapchat life coach.
In a new interview with Nardwuar, embedded above, Khaled talks about his humble beginnings at the retail chain at around the three-minute mark. Khaled says that he was selling his early projects right out of the store.
"I used to work at Champs Sports. I used to sell tapes," he says. "You know, you go and buy sneakers. But I used to put a tape in the sneaker. You know what I mean? They used to come see me cause they knew I had them tapes."
Khaled is still affiliated with Champs, having appeared in commercials for the store recently.
