This Cobbler in Chicago Brings Air Jordans Back to Life

See how Red Star Cobbler works its magic.

A traditional cobbler in Chicago is expanding into a new market, addressing the needs of the Windy City's sneakerheads by fixing up old shoes.

WGN caught up with Ray Ramirez at his shop Red Star Cobbler, which he says now gets half of its business from restoring Air Jordans, Yeezys and the like. Workers at the shop can clean or repaint sneakers and event transplant parts from one shoe to another.

The one thing the shop has trouble with is patent leather, which is difficult to restore to its shiny, factory new condition.

Red Star Cobbler charges from $20 to $60 for sneaker restorations.
