Kobe Bryant has indicated that if the season were to end today, it would be his last in the NBA. So, when the Los Angeles Lakers visited Madison Square Garden for a matinee matchup with the New York Knicks on Sunday, it may have been the last time we see Kobe play in the storied arena.
As always, Bryant received a warm reception from the New York faithful, taking the court in what may be his best Nike Kobe 10 Elite PE to date. The latest Lakers-inspired exclusive featured a black Flyknit upper, white toe, gold-outlined Swoosh and purple sole. It's the type of colorway that Lake Show fans wish Nike would release more of.
If this was indeed Bryant's last performance at the Garden, there was no storybook ending. He put up 18 points, but his friend Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks to a 99-95 victory.
