The Air Jordan 9 has the distinction of being only model of the original fourteen that Michael Jordan didn't wear as a Chicago Bull, though he later laced up the retro during his stint with the Washington Wizards. Most notably, the 9 served as one of Jordan's preferred cleats when he took up professional baseball following his unexpected 1993 retirement. And while it didn't have a significant on-court moment at the time, the Jordan 9 was immortalized on "The Spirit" statue installed in front of Chicago's United Center in 1994.
Despite not being linked to Jordan's run with the Bulls, the Jordan 9 has maintained its popularity throughout the years. Twenty-five different colorways have released since 1993, including the six-shoe "Alter Ego" Pack in 2012. But just as many samples never made it to the production stage, and we've rounded them up for you below.
