The NBA’s incoming class took over New York City this past weekend for the annual Rookie Photo Shoot. As usual, the rising stars were photographed for the first officially licensed Panini trading cards, as well as league-related media materials.
What’s always fascinating about the rookie photo shoot is that it takes place relatively early in the sneaker endorsement signing period, so not every player is wearing the brand that they’ll start their pro career representing. For example, Cleanthony Early laced up Jordan Melos last year before eventually signing a deal with China-based Li-Ning.
As far as the deals we know about, Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell did their first work as official members of Team Nike; Justise Winslow and Kelly Oubre Jr. represented the 3-Stripes; and Emmanuel Mudiay debuted a new Under Armour silhouette.
