The Nike Air Max 1, Tinker Hatfield's 1987 masterpiece, is ground-zero for the Air Max line.

The sneakers have been plenty celebrated as of late, as Nike is currently building up to next week's Air Max Day on March 26, but it's not often that an archival pair like this pops up. The pair, captured by Overkill, miraculously has the sole intact, although the bubble is too fogged up at this point for the sneaker's cushioning to even be called "visible air." Also on display here is the original Nike Air Max 1 box and packaging, complete with the information packet that came with.

Nike hasn't announced any sort of "Sport Red" Air Max 1 reissue for this year yet, but don't be surprised if the brand brings it back via a Quickstrike release.
