words // Brandon Richard
The Air Jordan 13 really doesn't have anything to do with Michael Jordan's baseball hiatus, so it's likely that this new colorway has nothing to do with the Birmingham Barons. However, Jordan Brand must understand that sneakerheads are giving any shoe with a white, black and grey scheme the nickname of 'Barons' from here on out. It's just the way we operate.
Previewed below, the unreleased style sports a white tumbled leather upper, with a glossy, patent-like synthetic (11Lab13) where we're accustomed to seeing suede. A throwback to 2005's 'Grey Toes,' this pair features...a grey toe.
What do you think about the new colorway? Specifically, patent replacing the suede panels? As of now, there's no release date, but be sure to keep it locked for updates.
UPDATE 7/1: Sole Collector can confirm a release date for the 'Barons' Air Jordan 13 Retro. The new iridescent patent version of the shoe will be available for $185 on Saturday, October 25. Sizing runs down to infant.
