Nike Presents NikeLab

Goodbye NSW, hello NikeLab

words // Zac Dubasik

Goodbye NSW, hello NikeLab. Last week it was reported that Nike's flagship 21 Mercer store was closed briefly, and that it would be relaunching on June 11th. Well, today is June 11th, and we now know what all the fuss was about.

According to Nike Inc., the "new destination will provide consumers with unique expressions of Nike’s leading innovations within an experience that bridges physical retail, online commerce, and digital engagement." The goal is to offer consumers a chance to see how Nike interacts and collaborates "as part of its larger journey of exploration." In simple terms, this will probably be the new hot spot for super limited products, which will be snatched up by resellers, and unaffordable to most of us on eBay.

The concept stores will be opening tomorrow in New York, London, Paris, Milan, Shanghai and Hong Kong. And there's good news for those of you with bots too, as there will also be a digital version at Nike.com/NikeLab. Are you happy to see stores like 21 Mercer changed up? Let us know what you think of this new concept.
