Celine's Air Force 1-Esque Calfskin High Tops Coming This Fall

This won't be the first time the AF1 "inspires" another sneaker. Check out this luxe calfskin version from Celine in three colors coming soon.

Around a decade ago, A Bathing Ape built out an entire footwear business for itself by taking some...inspiration...from Nike's iconic Air Force 1. We've seen it happen a couple times since, to varying success, from the likes of Yums and even the $1,000 Hender Scheme Highs.

Fashion house Celine is apparently the latest brand to jump on the Bruce Kilgore-designed silhouette, quite literally drafting off of the exact lines that made the Air Force 1 an icon since it's introduction in 1982. You'll notice the midsole and outsole are looking quite familiar, along with the hight top's collar strap.

Check out the calfskin-based model in the Celine Fall '14 Lookbook, and stay tuned for release and price details.
