Another Look At The Air Jordan Retro 1 High "Barons"

To commemorate Michael's .202 batting average, Jordan Brand is launching a Barons-themed AJ 1 High next Saturday.

While Mike was swinging away for a summer in Birmingham in a cleated version of the Air Jordan IX some twenty years ago, the model was still able to live out its own legacy on the feet of NBA players around the league. Perhaps a few on-court memories for the model at the United Center would've helped, but nonetheless, it's remained a sought after model.

Next Saturday, Jordan Brand is commemorating Michael's .202 batting average with a Barons-themed colorway of the 9 Retro, and they're also releasing this Air Jordan 1 High as an alternate option.

Unlike some of the themed Retro 1 counterparts, these are surprisingly great. A clean colorway, you'll find great soft grey accents and just enough detailing through the laces and pinstriped collar lining.

Look for them to launch on Saturday, April 5th at Jordan accounts nationwide and online at Nike.com via the @NikeStore Twitter account as usual.
