The Nike Internationalist returned earlier this year, so let's take a look a tthe shoe's original ad from 1980.

Much like the original colorway of the Nike Air Force 180 I talked about in the Classic Commercial feature earlier this week, the Nike Internationalist retro released earlier this year is another great bringback that seems to have slipped through the cracks of sneaker hype.  Maybe the large quantity of retro sneakers bombarding the marketplace makes it too hard to keep track of them all, or maybe an early 1980's runner like the Internationalist just isn't a model that the masses are going to pay attention to, anyway.  Whatever the case, I'm here to give the underappreciated Internationalist retro some shine today, by featuring the shoe's original ad from 1980.

Like the ad explains, the Nike Internationalist was a long-distance running shoe, designed to take a beating.  It featured Nike's standard-to-its-time construction in suede, nylon and mesh, with a sturdy EVA foam midsole and patented waffle outsole underneath for the perfect traction on either the road or the trail.  Perhaps the grandfather of the Nike ACG line?

The Internationalist is back in stores (and Nike.com) now, available in the original blue and yellow colorway you see in this ad.
