Early Saturday morning, several pieces of incredibly rare Michael Jordan memorabilia were auctioned off by Goldin Auctions.

The collection included Jordan's college recruiting letters from North Carolina head coach Dean Smith and assistant Bill Guthridge, his undergraduate transcript and college diploma and a game-worn Dream Team uniform from 1992.

According to Goldin Auctions, the documents were originally on display at Michael Jordan's old Chapel Hill restaurant. They were stored in a public storage facility when the establishment closed in 2003.

According to ESPN's Darren Rovell, Jordan's mother Deloris initially challenged the authenticity of the documents, but was unable to produce identical letters. While the auctions were running, Goldin Auctions obtained several letters from experts vouching for the letters' authenticity based on handwriting by Smith and Guthridge.

Combined, the letters, transcript and diploma sold for about $55,000. The Dream Team uniform, which has been authenticated by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, went for $32,682.63.
