Celebrating Martin Luther King Day, the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets were scheduled for a Monday matinee at Madison Square Garden. Behind the hot shooting of Joe Johnson and a solid 19 and 12 contribution from 'Dray Live,' the Nets eased past the Knicks 103-80. Carmelo Anthony led the way for New York with 26 points and 12 rebounds.
For MLK Day, several players around the league laced up special Black History Month-themed sneakers by Nike and the Jordan Brand. Shoes like the Melo M10, KD 6, Hyperdunk 2013, HyperRev, Crusader and Paul Pierce's Air Legacy 3 were given the purple-based 'BHM' treatment. Of course, Metta World Peace had his own special way of honoring the past — see how in today's MSG Sole Watch courtesy of Keez Cam.
