After an early season trade to the Sacramento Kings, forward Derrick Williams is starting to break out a batch of rare kicks now that he's stockpiled a rotation to match his new team's purple unis.
Last night, he opted for the Zoom Kobe IV from 2009 in a rare "MLK Day" themed colorway, paying tribute to the civil rights leader just before the upcoming national holiday this month on January 20th.
Williams shares agents, an offseason trainer and shoe sizes with Kobe Bryant, and you can look for him to be repping #24's line of lows for most of the year.
"I’ve gotten a few pairs of the old school Kobes, like Kobe IIIs and IVs, and a couple pairs of Vs," he told us earlier in the year. "I’m gonna wear the Aston Martin collection, the Hyperdunks and the Vs, coming up. So I’m giving you a little heads up at that, but I’m really gonna try to stick with Kobes this season."
Check out Derrick Williams in action below, along with a shot of his "MLK" Kobe IVs that he sent us just before last night's big home win over the Portland Trail Blazers.
