For Halloween, we present an Air Jordan ad series with a concept that is truly frightening to the sneaker culture: a world without Michael Jordan.
These three ads published in the pages of Sports Illustrated in November of 1998, with Jordan's second retirement looming (he would officially announce his retirement in january of 1999), feature three iconic MJ poses: his jump shot, patented lean and slam dunk contest soar from the free throw line. But as you can see something is missing. What would basketball and the sneaker world be like without Michael? We don't even want to know!
