In January of 2010, Gilbert Arenas and adidas went their separate ways after an off-court incident tarnished the reputation of the three-time All-Star. It marked an unfortunate ending to a partnership that spawned one of the more creative signature sneaker lines in recent memory. Agent Zero went on to become The Sneaker Champ and once again changed the landscape of NBA Footwear, but there are quite a few of us who still miss what adidas and Arenas had cooking up with the Gil line.
Andre Drummond, current adidas athlete and budding NBA star, was recently spotted paying homage to the 3-Stripe Basketball icon while out on the town in West Hollywood. Drummond laced up the adidas TS Lightswitch Gil, a 2007 release that evolved into the ahead of its time Gil II Zero. The 'Home' TS Lightswitch Gil features a grey nubuck upper, metallic blue cross-strap, laser detailing and 3M reflective paneling.
The messy ending may have ruined any chance, but would you like to see some of Gil's adidas shoes brought back one day? Let us know and check out a few shots of Drummond keeping hope alive below.
