Nike LeBron X Low - 2-Time Champion

Commemorative sneaker celebrates LeBron's second-straight championship ring...wait, what?

words // Brandon Richard

Tonight, it's put up or shut up for LeBron James and the Miami Heat. A win earns the team a shot at a second-straight NBA Championship on Tuesday, while a loss would begin an intense summer of over-the-top media and social media scrutiny. Not helping matters much? The leak of what is believed to be a celebratory "2-Time Champion" Nike LeBron X Low shoe.

First things first; all companies pre-produce sneakers in anticipation of certain achievements and milestones. It has to be done for timing reasons. This isn't a showing of arrogance by Nike or LeBron — just being prepared in the event that the Heat manage to pull off the win. With that said, there's probably somebody in Beaverton that's pretty pissed these photos are making rounds today.

Now on to the shoe, which is decked out in metallic green with Givenchy-style graphics along the side panels and interior. Other features include three lace options, gold Swoosh branding and what may be a glowing green full-length Max Air bag and outsole. Of course, what makes these shoes "controversial" are the insoles, which read '2-Time Champion' and '11-12, 12-13.'

As of now, we have no confirmation that these will release, even if the Heat complete the comeback. It's a possible parade option for LeBron, who favors his low-tops for off-court social events. Maybe they'll drop without the insoles if Miami loses the series. We'll likely find out one way or the other this week.
