The adidas EQT Elevation was one boneheaded trade away from originally looking like this back in 1997. Perhaps not the metallic overlays, but definitely the teal and purple scheme inspired by the team that initially drafted Kobe Bryant 16 years ago — the Charlotte Hornets.
With Kobe's first unofficial sig returning to retail, adidas celebrates his career with this special "Draft Day" make-up. The shoe sports a teal synthetic and textile build, including snake scale detailing likely in reference to his "Black Mamba" nickname. Purple fills the lateral 3-Stripes, while black works the tongue, heel and the upper line of the molded midsole. Holographic tabs on the tongue and ankle feature the numbers '8' and '13,' the latter being Kobe's draft position in '96. Teal, purple and white also come together on the outsole to complete the look.
There is no official release date for the "Draft Day" EQT Elevation at the moment, but we'll continue to keep you posted here at Sole Collector. In the meantime, let us know what you think about this new colorway in the comment section.
