Following arguably the league's most anticipated draft of all-time, the ladies of the WNBA are back and ready to tip off a new season later this month. In addition to training camp being underway, several teams came together for Media Day last week, and the new sneaker debuts didn't disappoint.
Whether you're a fan of the WNBA product or not, the league's collective sneaker game is always on point and fun to watch. The women not only rock some of the nicest Player Exclusives, but also debut new performance models before the men do in the fall. That was the case with heralded rookie Elena Delle Donne of the Chicago Sky, the first to lace up the upcoming Hyperdunk 2013 in a custom colorway. Furthermore, reigning MVP Tina Charles and First Team All Defense center Sylvia Fowles each rocked the new Nike Zoom Hyperquickness.
Longtime Team LeBron members Diana Taurasi and Swin Cash both impressed in PE make-ups of the Nike LeBron X, while Courtney Vandersloot, Epiphanny Prince, Candice Dupree and Kara Lawson went with Kobe 8 System PEs. Top overall pick Brittney Griner shared her own Kobe 8 PE over the weekend, but wore the Hyperdisruptor to Media Day. Teammate DeWanna Bonner snapped her shots in a personalized version of the KD V.
Keep an eye out for these kicks and more in the first WNBA Sneaker Watch of the new season.
