Air Jordan collectors worldwide flocked to retailers this past Black Friday for the 2012 reissue of arguably the most iconic AJ IV colorway. We last saw the storied Air Jordan IV colorway back in 2008 as part of the Countdown Pack collection, and as a traditional retro on its own back in 1999. The 2012 release of the Black/Cement Grey-Fire Red AJ IV brought out an endless amount of fans, as this was technically everyone's first shot at a pair of these classics in almost 13 years.

Setting them apart from past versions, the Jordan Brand did their usual switch of materials and added og-inspired packaging as well. The 2012 Black/Cement Grey AJ 4 Retro sports a full suede upper, as opposed to the classic durabuck used by JB since the original AJ IV.

This might have also been the widest release of the original Air Jordan IV colorway, with retailers nationwide receiving enough stock to satisfy a large number of customers. Numerous retailers still had size runs available well into the afternoon on the biggest shopping day of the year, helping avoid the mass-hysteria caused numerous times in the past with limited releases.
