For fashion-forward adidas fans, Originals unveils the official lookbook for their Fall/Winter 2012 Blue Collection. For Fall/Winter 2012, the Blue design team worked between Herzogenaurach, Germany (adidas HQ) and Tokyo, Japan, and drew inspiration from the chic simplicity of British sartorial heritage, as well as motorcycle culture, finding ways to blend class with attitude and edge. Blue designers injected traditional British sensibility with Originals DNA, mixing up familiar fabrics like corduroy and tweed, with modern takes of classic hunting details to create a contemporary outdoor look.
In addition to pulling cues from British heritage, the collection draws on motorcycle culture to give iconic Originals looks a rock and roll vibe. French terry, flannel chambray and woolen knits are indigo dyed and Navajo pattern gets rough with leather inserts and decorative lacing.
The same motif finds its way onto footwear, where the designers dipped into the Originals 90s archive to pull out silhouettes as well as inspiration for new shapes.
