After quite a scandal broke out over the, well, “creative reallocation” of the school’s allotment of the Zoom LeBron II exclusive the year prior, the Men’s hoops team was put on a probation of sorts, and didn’t receive anything more than a team bank white/green pair of the 2K5’s for the following season. To make matters worse for the hoops squad, the Duck Football team and school marching band were gifted pairs of this black patent leather and lightning accented Zoom Huarache 2K5, for game day and team travel usage.
With its black nubuck upper, black patent rand that flowed into the collar strap and black heel counter and midsole, the shoe only sparsely featured hits of green, as compared to the more colorful Zoom LeBron II. This 2K5 did show up at MacArthur Court eventually, as multi-sport athlete Jordan Kent rocked them on the hardwood, saving them from the football season. As you’ll find out tomorrow, there were quite a few variations of the shoe before the team got to this final version.
