Vans Tony Alva Legends Pack Spring 2010

Legendary Z-Boy Tony Alva has once again teamed up with Vans to design a couple of new shoes for the Spring 2010 Collection. If you’re not familiar with Alva, you’ve probably never picked up a skateboard before, as this man is one of the most influential skateboarder of all time, essentially defining the rebellious, do it yourself mentality of skateboarding. Alva’s accomplishments include Guinness world records, the films Dogtown and Skateboard: The Movie, Skateboarder of the Year, as well as introducing the use layered Canadian maple plywood for the skate decks.

With as much skateboard history as these two share, it’s no surprise their relationship can result in a number of collaborations. Alva’s choice is also no surprise,  going with his original signature shoe, the Vans Mid Skool 77 Pro. Also included in the Alva Legends Pack is the simple classic, the Vans Era Pro. Both of which are created with eco-friendly materials like water-based adhesives and recycled gum rubber. The laces and inner lining are also environmentally friendly thanks to the use of recycled PET.

Overall, a solid creation that continues to lead the direction of skateboard culture from someone who has been doing it for over 30 years. Check with your local Vans dealer for availability.
