So far what we’ve seen from Nike for the Spring of 2010 seems to be quite impressive. While there have been a number of new silhouettes, including the Air Max BW Gen II and Lunarlite Woven Chukka, the high point may not even be a silhouette but rather a material. The innovative new Torch material, or rather combination of 3 materials in one, has the potential to set a new standard in the footwear industry.
The Nike Air Maxim 1 Torch is one of the models that we will see featuring this technological advancement. While the Torch technology might be an advancement for the sneaker industry as a whole, for sneakerheads it may be even more important. The three layers of Torch not only help control moisture and breathability but also help create a structure that is resistant to creases. Now if there was one silhouette that might best fit this new found technology, it would be the Air Maxim 1. Of course a popular silhouette packed with new technology still needs a good colorway. Nike has decided that the Air Maxim 1 Torch should be debuted in a timeless colorway for running shoes like black and yellow. The result is a classic style and color that is loaded with technical enhancements. Look for the Nike Air Maxim 1 Torch early next year at Nike retailers.
