Sneaker Freaker x New Balance “Skippy”

Sneaker Freaker x New Balance Skippy

Australian based sneaker magazine Sneaker Freaker has teamed up with New Balance for a unique collaboration. Rather than go straight for a long established and overproduced model, Sneaker Freaker decided upon a silhouette that just recently began making its way back from the New Balance heritage vault. The New Balance 850 has not been produced in a large number of colorways which makes it a perfect blank canvas for a new collaboration.

The Sneaker Freaker x New Balance “Skippy” was inspired by the most famous of Australians, the kangaroo. Skippy features not only a nice mix of materials, but an interesting and well executed color combination as well. While most of this lightweight running silhouette is covered in black and bright lemon-lime accents, the toebox and mud guard is treated with, ironically, a peanut-butter brown color. In addition, the oatmeal colored midsole sits atop a white sole. Aside from the kangaroo inspired colorway, Skippy can also be identified as Australian by the Sneaker Freaker logo across the insoles.

While the most famous marsupial may be endemic to the land down under, thankfully, Skippy will be available at select retailers world wide on December 5th. See the complete list of retailers at Sneaker Freaker.
