When it comes to pop art, Robert Indiana is one of the most well respected artists in the last century. He would be considered by most to be one of the earliest pioneers of the pop art movement. Most recognized by some for his unique LOVE stamp that started on a greeting card and has now been seen around the world in various forms, including sculptures in New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Tokyo and Jerusalem. Robert Indiana has also worked with other pop culture icons, like Andy Warhol, who have also influenced some of the streetwear and sneaker culture’s most respected designers.

On top of the LOVE design that finds its way onto these new Chuck Taylors, Robert Indiana also has another relevancy when it comes to basketball. In 1978 he designed the hardwood floors that could be seen at what used to be known as MECCA Arena and US Cellular Arena in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the former home of the Milwaukee Bucks. The resulting combination of iconic artwork and iconic sneakers, the Robert Indiana Chuck Taylor All Stars are available now at Converse for $55.

   The cities should include Philadelphia. The LOVE design is actually in the city. Philadelphia never gets as much love as we should!

     Added Philly, from researching it looks like the sculpture is actually in over a dozen locations now.
