As Allen Iverson’s whole career is perhaps in a state of uncertainty this summer, with the legitimate possibility that he’ll actually retire, Reebok has decided to drop the Answer XIII already, as compared to the signature shoe’s normal February release during the past few years. A white/royal blue colorway is now available.
Designed by Kohei Kanata, the Answer XIII features a lightweight synthetic upper, thick memory foam padded collar and full-length low profile Hexride cushioning. The shoe is also equipped with Reebok’s Smooth Fit lining for less irritation and better comfort. The insole is actually the most interesting aspect of the shoe, as it’s several millimeters thick for an improved padded feel, and also features a TPU shank just under the arch incorporated into the sockliner.
“Creating a comfortable shoe is a given; what excites me the most is how much Allen loves the shoe,” begins Kanata. “When we were in Detroit in January to show him the All-Star Answer XII, he was super excited to see the latest A13 sample. He loves the comfort and the look. He was holding the shoe the entire meeting and said he can’t wait for the next season to wear this shoe.’”
Kanata, who also designed the Answer X & XII, is getting used to the process of creating a signature Answer shoe from scratch. “When we design shoes for Allen, we want to push the creative boundaries and take chances on design,” he reveals. “Just as much as people love/ hate on Allen, this shoe is going to be the same. It is what best fits him, both functionally and aesthetically. He is who he is, and this is what it is. This shoe is Allen Iverson.”
The Answer XIII will retail for $100, and the Black/ Red colorway will be available this fall.

I love this colorway! Much better than the blue ones that were posted last time.
These are HOT, the best colorway IMO, they really need to up availability though, because Internationally it’s very hard to find ‘em.
And Allen, just sign with the ‘cats already, these will be great in Black/Orange, and with TC to stuff back any missed lay-ups, you’ll make the team a success.
This colorway is nice! If Iverson signs with the Heat, these will go perfect with their road uniforms as well.
Wow, selling like hot-cakes, they just popped up on Reebok.com in Europe, and they’re nearly sold out already.
