Originally from Taiwan, the owner of Phantaci Jay Chou’s fame spreads well beyond the borders of his native homeland. Chou can thank his musical skills popularity, although just like many musicians, Jay has successfully stepped into other genres of the entertainment industry as well. Phantaci and Nike teamed up in 2008 to create a version of the Air Max 1 that never saw an actual release. The two companies have teamed up again and this time around the sneakers will drop.
The Air Max 1 was chosen as the creative platform. Chou’s first passion, music, or more specifically the Grand Piano, was the inspiration for the color and material choices on this Air Max 1. In the traditional ebony and ivory that we all associate with the piano, Phantaci’s signature pink color is also used to accent the patent leather finish. A touch of gold is included on the heel panel as well. Look for these to release in the near future in limited numbers (400 pairs worldwide) at select Nike retailers.
