PE Spotlight: Monta Ellis’ AND1 Tai Chi

words & images_Nick DePaula

While his game might not feature the balance that the Tai Chi’s original design language so stresses — the dude is a scorer — this smooth colorway of the brand’s most notable model, made just for Warriors combo-guard Monta Ellis, is fittingly under the radar.

In a mostly white base upper with a navy nubuck medial rand and navy accents throughout, the shoe, much like Monta, can go unnoticed at times while getting the job done. He dropped 42 on the Spurs and 37 on the Mavs most recently, with just a handful of teammates to help out. With just a subtle ‘ME8′ exclusive badging along the heel, this Tai Chi goes right alongside all of Monta’s kicks by being both clean and simple.
