Raptors PG Jose Calderon’s Li Ning PEs

LiNingJose11words_Nick DePaula

Jose Calderon might not be a household name just yet, but the steady Raptors point guard hailing from Spain can claim a pair of his own detailed signature shoes on his resume. Now in his second season of wearing Li Ning shoes, after the Chinese sneaker company embarked on outfitting several NBA players, Calderon’s black and red signature model features a nicely unique upper incorporating flowing lines throughout.

With his trademark ‘3 fingers’ pose in silhouette form along the tongue, as well as his jersey number 8 found on the medial collar, the shoe also features a Spanish flag graphic under the translucent forefoot outsole, nicely tying the shoe back to Jose. There’s no word just yet on a stateside release for Calderon’s model or the shoes worn by fellow Li Ning athletes like Baron Davis, Shaquille O’Neal, Hasheem Thabeet, Kevin Love or Carl Landry, but we will have an upcoming feature on the history of the brand and their plans for next year in the near future. What do you think of the model?

pretty decent. you can see that this shoe has good breathability. it looks like it’s built solidly, and should have great traction. materials don’t look cheap at all. seems like a good shoe for a mobile big guard. keep em comin’, Li Ning!!

These look like a basketball version of the first Nike Vicks.

looks like a pair of Adidas Team Mac 2

Does anyone know where they sell this brand?

  6. DT says:

These are looking nice. Like the colorway and design. I think Nike and Adidas some take notes on what Li Ning is doing.

  7. Andy David says:

Pretty slick. Except the build quality doesn’t look that clean particularly the midsole and the heel support.

  8. Kurtis says:

    where can i get these?

  9. Colin says:

How can anyone think the Jordan 2010’s are ugly and these are nice? These look like the army issued boots from that movie Judge Dread with Sly Stallone, give me a break people.

  10. Davide says:

Nice lines everywhere but the toe box. It looks like some weird jordan fusion 7 + 16 + 2009. The outline is a little much.

    Very nice!
