As we’re nearing the holiday season and end of 2009, the most exciting part of the the NBA Sneaker Watch is nearly upon us, the mid-year change-out!! Some players are already sneaking into their upcoming models, like Dwight Howard and Chris Paul. Have a favorite from the look below around the league?

Dwight Howard debuted the adidas TS Supernatural Commander, which won’t be officially launching until mid January and will be blown up in a BIG way at the Dallas 2010 NBA All Star Weekend. The podular approach is back for adidas Basketball, what do you think?


Tyler Hansbrough, everyone’s favorite deserving Lottery pick, throws down this monster dunk to the surprise of everyone around him in the exactly-tailored-for-Psycho-T bland Nike Blue Chip II.

It’s highly likely that Vince Carter, wearing the Shox Vision as per usual, either: A.) Waited til the end of the shot clock and missed a fading 3-point attempt. B.) Waited til the end of the shot clock and half-heartedly drove the lane for a missed floater. C.) Glared at the nearest ref for a foul call on both options.

Zippy guard TJ Ford has been repping for the Stripes in the adidas TS Cut Creator all season long. This is definitely one of the better colorways.

Eric Gordon blows by DeShawn Stevenson, as expected, and is met by Antawn Jamison, who has gone back to last season’s adidas TS Commander.

Gilbert Arenas is yet another adi-wearing Wizard who’s trying to reverse their luck by switching to a sneaker worn during better times. Gil-0 has gone back to the, well, Gil Zero. And with a logo along your shoe’s tongue called “The Beardman,” that sounds like a lot of pressure on Baron Davis to keep the beard in perfect form all season long.

It’s a strange universe of past and present indeed. Josh Howard reverts back to the Jordan True Flight, and yes, that’s Tim Floyd on the Hornets bench. Looks like he’s through breaking up Vegas catfights. All this time, I was just hoping he really took a long look at doing Blue Chips II.

You kind of have to feel bad for Marcin Gortat. Sure, he just got a new 5 year/ $34 Million deal, and he’s not wearing Reebok anymore after their childish brand skirmish last spring, but dude is playing just 13.8 minutes per game, after hoping to be a starter on the Mavericks over the offseason. Look for him to be one of the first players traded, now that the summer’s free agents are eligible to be moved.

KG and Mike Conley both look pissed at referee Bill Spooner, who in the tradition of Danny Crawford, is bringing some flair to the polished all black Ref sneaker game with a pair of the Nike Air Max Plus 97.

Chris Paul breaks out what I consider not only the best model yet of his three signature shoes, but also the best colorway, as he’s wearing the Black/ White/ Orion Blue version. Look for these in early January.

CP3 takes it right at JJ Barea, who’s been wearing some clean Zoom Kobe IV iDs all year long.

Lastly, the Birdman is hoping everyone is getting in the Holiday spirit!!

   Dwight’s Supernaturals are FIRE!!! Both futuristic, and classic in one design(and they’re super comfy)
   The Beardman Li Ning’s are awesome.
   Lol at the VC pic, if only he put in the effort, he could’ve been an All-Time great.
   Hoping the Wizards stay healthy, great looking colorways BTW.
   I don’t really get the CP3.III design, still think the 1st 2 looked better.

   the supernatural’s soles are back from the kobe line. i think adidas is recycling some of their shoe moulds. it’s great to see the feet u wear line back, but i kinda wand to see new stuff from adidas too.
