Eastbay Presents: Halloween Sneaker Watch

Over the past few days, we’ve had both scary and bizarre moments (thanks Manu) and some downright dreadful games to sit through. (Thanks Bobcats.) We also saw a few celebrities dress up for the occasion and once again, a nice round of sneakers that hit the NBA court.

DJ Augustin and Bobby Simmons faced off in a battle of lesser known Brand Jordan team members. Take a close look at Bobby’s Ol’ School III’s, as they feature his very own B21 logo along the heel. The brand has finally ditched its Times New Roman PE font and designed a personal logo for every player on the roster. You can be sure to see them all in an upcoming issue of Sole Collector.

Jonny Flynn drives into traffic while wearing the Blue Chip II, while Baron Davis applies some pressure in his signature Li Ning BD1s.

A look at the current and future of the Clippers franchise. As usual, Eric Gordon is rocking a clean pair of the adidas TS Cut Creator.

Brandon Jennings tore it up on Saturday night against the Pistons in his Under Armour Proto BBs, going off for 16 in the 3rd quarter alone. I’m still not sure why, but I really do plan on watching every Bucks game this season. Thanks League Pass!

Kings fans are used to Kevin Martin shooting terribly awkward jumpers. He’s wearing the Jordan Hallowed Ground here, and Sam Young isn’t sure what else to do.

Allen Iverson finally returned to the floor last night in Sacramento, and he broke out a colorful pair of the new Answer XIII. After scoring 11 points in less than 18 minutes, it seems he’s already in mid-year form, as he complained after the game about coming off the bench. “Go look at my resume and that will show you that I’m not a sixth man,” Iverson said. “I don’t think it has anything to do with me being selfish. It’s just who I am. I don’t want to change what gave me all the success that I’ve had since I’ve been in this league.” I love the guy, but hopefully he realizes he’s in Memphis. And not a league leader in anything anymore.

The Hornets and Knicks game actually turned out to be pretty decent, with players showing actual effort throughout. Chris Duhon took a page from Nate Robinson’s book and broke out a pair of Zoom Kobe IDs in Knicks colors.

A trend we’ve noticed already this season is the fact that several bigger guys, like David Lee and James Posey, are still sticking with the Nike Powermax from last season. David West wore them during this same game as well.

In front of about 176 fans in attendance, Tyson Chandler returned to the court for the Bobcats. He became the latest player to apparently receive Js as he arrived in Charlotte, as he’s wearing the Hallowed Ground in a simple white/navy colorway.

The Mavericks capped off a pretty solid weekend by sweeping the LA teams. Shawn Marion is wearing the update to the value aimed Max Spot Up, which has a pretty sweet court view.

Jason Kidd will once again wear PEAK all season long, unnecessary medial pizazz and all.

Live chatter Derrick Rose, wearing the adidas TS Cut Creator of course, gets his highlight ruined by DeJuan Blair on this play.

The Clippers held a spirited halftime show that I gladly didn’t catch. SCARY.

We’ll end on a brighter note, with the Clippers cheerleaders decked out in costumes.

I am sick with sneaker watch, for the main reason that some teams have new unis! All summer I have been stocking up on authentic’s not knowing that some teams have a new look. AAAHHHH. I feel like Charlie Brown he always gets played. I member when a team would rock the same uni for years. My beloved blazers showed me that I am no longer able to come off the bench cause of the old getup. We beat SAN last night so that’s a positive. Lastly, can Three stripes make the shorts any shorter? When is the rights up for the official outfitter up again? Now would be better!
