Eastbay Memory Lane: Holiday 1994

words_Jordan Hagedorn

In the spirit of the Holiday season I dug deep into the Eastbay Archive and grabbed a catalog from exactly 15 years ago. Take a look at the cover and a few pages that will surely stir up some nostalgia. I was always a fan of the Comic Book covers Eastbay would bust out in the 1990′s.

Page 3 featured a nice little write up on the “Round Mound of Rebound”, three colorways of Barkleys and some crispy Steel X’s.

Page 6 had another Sun, 3 baller Dan Majerle along with some unique Mega Force 3/4 and a AJ IX lookin’ Nike.

Larry Johnson and a bunch of funky Converse kicks were on page 10 along with an old school J.R. Rider poster and the Bob Knight endorsed Strength Shoe which was dubbed “The Ultimate Leg Training System.”

Last but not least, the back cover had the ’90s classic Breakaway Starter Jackets.

LMAO I actually have that Jacksonville Jaguars jacket sitting right here next to me. Before they had to revamp the logo due to Jaguar (automotive) threatening a lawsuit.

destroyer or kamikaze question: who came out first?
Tough call……because i had the blk/wht/green kamikaze for my high school team shoe in 1994-1995 …so that would have been right at the same time as this Mag

I’ve been rocking my NY Giants bomber(black pullover version) lately, it’s in excellent condition because i moved to south Texas in the 90′s and it’s only cold a couple of weeks out the year. I also still have and rock a Giants “shiny jacket”. I planned for the future back then, and got one for my birthday kids sized, and saved my allowance and copped the same jacket in adult size for my later years. I still have a Knicks windbreaker pullover too…I need that San Antonio Spurs one with the old logo, and if anyone knows where to get one, i will pay!
